Maybank Scholarship Award 2013 Interview

Assalamualaikum and hi

Since this is gonna be my second post about interview, it might be more shorter than my very first interview post although they are not under the same scholarship. My first time interview is JAD programme under YPM and you can read it here < JAD ( Japanese Associate Degree ) Interview 2013 >

Actually, I was applied for this scholarship since before the SPM result was announced and only use my trial SPM result. You can know more here --> Maybank Official Website The general requirements are :
  • Obtained minimum 6As in SPM (trial 2012 and/or actual) or equivalent
  • Total annual household income of not more than RM 120 000
  • Leadership experience in co-curricular activities
  • Energetic individuals who seek challenge and rewarding careers upon graduation
  • Applicants must not be a recipient of any other scholarship or award from other organisations / foundations
The first level, Maybank will give you an email that tell that you're being shortlisted. Maybank will ask you to complete the assessments  The assessments are divided into 2 categories that are

RfB Managerial and Graduate Verbal B (unsupervised)
RfB Managerial and Graduate Numerical B (unsupervised) .

You are allowed to use dictionary and calculator to complete the assessments. And the assessments are fully in English and in a high English and Maths of knowledgeable. It's more to financial banking and business examination because it asked about percentage, profit, loss and much more banking jargon. For me, there are no time to open your dictionary and search for some difficult words because the time given is only 45 minutes (if i'm not mistaken) for each assessment.

So, some tips here ; Don't waste your time and read the questions carefully. Don't be so mess and stressed out with the jargon of the questions eventhough you do not understand what are the questions ask you all about. Have fun while doing the assessments because i enjoyed my assessments very much because i didn't put much hope on it.

But, rezki is everywhere and alhamdulilah i was called by a young officer ( based on her voice ) by 2 nights before the interview session will be held. I was so so so happy. Ya Allah seriously i was very happy that night .

10 April 2013
Wednesday
3.30 PM
Menara Maybank, KL

"I am here, Maybank"  hihihi. So, i came 30 minutes early than the time for my session and i was the only candidate for the Maybank Scholarship Award 2013. When i was in the lift to go to the office, there was a young Malay officer asked me,

" Datang untk interview biasiswa ye ? "
" Ye saya. :) "
" Goodluck, banyak-banyak baca selawat "
" Terima Kasih "

Sharp on 3.30 PM, the officer I guess her name is Habibah asked me to write an essay. Dang ! Essay guys, she asked me to write an essay. If i'm not mistaken, the question was : " Write an essay about what do you know about Maybank Scholarship Award 2013 and why you must be chosen as one of the scholarship holder. " More or less something like that la.

After settled with the essay question, i used to sit back at my place. and there was an Indian mother who accompanied her daughter for the interview and we had some beneficial chat. She was really really nice. a couple minutes later, the interviewers called me for the interview session.

My interviewers are a Malay man a Chinese woman. and they are so nice and awesome. They keep on asking me questions and we made the interview as a discussions between friends about sharing experiences. the questions are ( more or less ) :

  • Share with us your background
  • Who are you during your secondary school ?
  • Are you active in co-curricular activities ?
  • So between all of the activities, which one you really interested ? Why ?
  • Tell me more about scouting if you don't mind.
  • What are the definitions of leader and leadership from your eyes view ?
  • If you're a leader, how you managed to control your team member ?
  • What is your advantage and disadvantage ?
  • If you are working in a group of different races, how you build up the cooperation ?
  • What is your hobby ?
  • What type of books do you read ? do you read books written by JK Rowling ?
  • Do you prefer to study local or oversea? because you can choose either one :)
  • Which university you wish to pursue your study?
  • Why do you choose engineering discipline ?
  • So, do you know what are the scope of engineering in Maybank ?
  • besides the books that you told before, what kind of books that you read ?
  • What will you do once you finish your study for Maybank ?
  • What do you know about Maybank ?
  • Why do you choose Maybank Scholarship compared to other scholarships ?
  • what is the irritating moments in your life?
  • What is the happiest moment in your life ?
  • How do you make yourself succeed?
  • Why Maybank need to chose you ?
  • Who is your idol ?

WOW ! A lot of questions huh ? I've been interviewed for an hour. HAHA. Lama gila, guys. Once i walked out from the room, there was an Indian girl (daughter to the Indian mother) and a Malay boy. Wished them luck and walked to the lift.

So, that was my Maybank Interview experience. Sorry if its not really help you, guys. One thing i'm proud of myself is i managed to walk in the interview and bring along my school's name. Please be prepared before you go for the interview. I've tell you the questions so do your research and prepare well. There's nothing to worry or scared because the interview is fun and the interviewers are so awesome. Enjoy yourself during interview and always smile. Answer all the questions. Just say what you think, what you know because the just want to hear you talk and to see your confident level. If you do not know about something or want to know about something, ask them. I asked a lot of questions to my interviewer. Monthly allowance pon I tanya tau. hehe. So hope this post help you. Good luck.

* seems this post much more longer than i wrote before *

JAD ( Japanese Associate Degree ) Interview 2013

Bissmillahirrahmanirrahim

Assalamualaikum , Happy Friday :)

Hello hello homosapiens ! Today i wanna share about JAD programme and the interview.  JAD is abbreviation for Japanese Associate Degree. So, from it's name we can know that it is Japan - Malaysia twinning programme. JAD is under the Yayasan Pelajaran Mara (YPM)

JAD ( Japanese Associate Degree )
twinning programme ( 3+2)

  • Full scholarship ( around RM 400 000 per person)
  • no bonding with YPM once ypu finish your study
  • a lot of homework and everyday have test
  • 3 years in Malaysia ( diploma )
  • 2 years in Japan ( degree )
  • applying and using Japan Language
  • be placed at  Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA Beranang  :)
  • only two courses are offered : Mechanical Engineering and Electric & Electronic Engineering

let's talk about the experience :)

Two nights before the interview, i made an interview practise with Hafezeen. ( Fezeen, if you read this, i wanna thank you, dude ) The only reason i made the interview with him is because he was the Mechanical Engineering student during his secondary school and i choose that course for my JAD programme. Since i know nothing bout Mechanical Engineering so, i keep on asking him bunches of questions. Well, at least i had my preparation for the interview and yaa don't forget to do some research on what type of Universities that you chose and bout the Japanese culture.

Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA Beranang
19 March 2013
8.00 AM

Around 8 AM, i arrived KKTM Beranang and what surprised me was where's the other candidates huh ??! Actually the interview session was extended to the next two days which was the day after the SPM result be announced. ( Thank you tazeen for the information ) Then, mummy and ayah decided to go to the office and met the administrator. Then, i knocked the door, an old Japanese lecturer came out and smiled. Aha ! I asked him bout the JAD interview and he shook his head. I got confused bout what was that mean and keep asked him bout the JAD programme. Then, he said , "No English" . Dang ! He can't understand English, guys ! So, he took me to a young Malay officer there. After bla bla bla and got the map to the YPM Office, we leave the KKTM Beranang. Ouh, JAD students are so friendly, they greeted me by Japan language and most of them are BOYS.

YPM Office , Semenyih
19 March 2013
9.00 AM

We met the officers there. All are ladies and super friendly. Ya Allah, they are really nice ! So, the interview starts to begin. And i sat for the test alone. A L O N E

The test

20 MCQ questions
5 - English
5 - Additional Maths / Maths
5- Chemistry
5 - Physics

30 minutes provided to answer the questions. With no calculators allowed . Hehe you must find how to answer the questions by your knowledge that you learned at school. So, those candidates out there, you should do some refresh and reverse back all the syllabus in Additional Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

After 30 minutes, the officer will take back the answer sheet and question paper. So, now you should get ready for the interview session. For the Muslim, keep on dua and don't stop Salawah. Allah gonna ease everything :)

The interview

My interviewers are 2 young ladies and i bet they are the lecturer. I was quiet nervous on that time since this is my very first time interview. So, i must go through the thick and thin of the interview process with no experience before. They asked me lot of questions !

  • Talk bout yourself
  • tell me more bout you co-curricular activities
  • What do you know about JAD ?
  • Why do you choose these universities ? did you do research ?
  • Why do you prefer to choose ME than E&E ?
  • What do you know about ME ?
  • what do you know about Japan ?
  • What do you know about the Japanese Culture ?
  • You said bout technologies and robots, so what kind of robots and technologies do Japan produce ?
  • Can you tell me what is Dasar Pandang ke Timur ?
  • How you can adapt and apply the Japan Culture in your daily life ?
  • Can you work in a critical and stress situation ?
  • Is this your first interview ?

And one of the interviewers gave me a question on the white board. Additional Maths. With no calculator.  Sin 60 = ??   Gotcha ! And at last, the gave me some briefing bout the JAD programme. They keep on saying that once you be the JAD student, you gonna be very busy with the homework, the classes and the new language. The classes will be start at 8 AM and finish at 6PM. Only an hour for Zuhur. Know more bout JAD here --- > Official JAD website

Shook hands and went to the restaurant nearby while waiting for my mummy and ayah. Again, met 3 officers from YPM and they are men. They asked me for 'sembang-sembang' and give some briefing bout the JAD. They conducted an interview in a relax situation. And i keep on laughing when talked to them because they are really BEST !

After 3 weeks from the interview, i got a call from the abang YPM. I still can recognize his voice. Yada yada ~~ He asked me either i wanna accept the offer or let go to other candidates. Then after some discussion with Mummy and ayah, i decided to reject the offer. Mummy was very worried because of the time table and the study schedule. So, she told me to reject the offer.

So juniors, take my experience as your reference. You gonna do and be better than i was. Never look yourself down if you're not that good in English because once you are in University, there's no more category. No more MRSM, SBP, KLUSTER. Trust and have faith in Allah, keep on practicing and dua may Allah ease everything. BTW, don't be so nervous because you'll ruin your interview session. Your mind gonna blank and you can't understand and answer the questions well. Give the positive answers and feedback to the interviewers. Convince them and make them impress of your communication and answering skills. Always smile and don't use a high pitch of voice. You're the one who asked for the scholarship, so talk nicely and don't ever provoke them back if they are provoke you at first. show them how you really interested with the scholarship and tell them more bout yourself to be chosen as the scholarship holder.

langkah baru sekecil dua

Di saat semua mata tak henti-henti
melihat gerak langkah aku sedari tadi
aku bikin putusan. Duduk seorang diri dia anjung sepi berteman melodi
melankolik di malam sunyi

Salahkah aku saat aku menentukan setiap gerak geri aku sendiri ?
Salahkah aku jika aku nekad buat keputusan untuk masa depan aku sendiri ?

Jika benar aku salah, betulkan aku.
tunjukkan bagian mana harus aku perbaiki

Jika benar aku benar, kunci mulutmu.
Jangan kau hirau apa lagi tindakan aku lepas ini

Aku masih perlu ibu

Harimu baru bermula
Harimu masih muda warnanya
Harimu indah buat meraka kecewa

Bangunlah, jalan masih jauh untuk kau kesalkan

SPM Tips

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Assalamualaikum and happy Thursday :)

Hi guys! For those who don't  know me, I just completed my SPM last year.  I still remember the feeling weeks before SPM. I would not look a the countdown if possible because it makes me nervous. I just basically know how many weeks left and just focus on what else I need to do before the big day instead of making myself all worried.

For my trial, I got only 7A's 2B's ( B for Physics and Add Math) so I was asking myself: " Can I get straight A's or not ? " because i just lost 1 -5 marks for both papers to make me got straight A's during the trial. But, I told myself that , 'It's okay to cry now because it gonna be worse if i cry during my SPM' , because i cried once i got my Physics grade ! I did make careless mistakes due to my calculator didn't function well.

Everywhere you go, anything you do, there are challenges. All you need to do is put your head down for those challenges and work towards it till it is achieved. So, if you didn't do well in your Form 4 final exam , then it's okay. Head high and chin up, there's nothing perfect without any flaws in this world. Keep on trying and never give up cause once you give up, there is no opportunity for you to achieve those success.

Okay let's stop babbling and start begin

So, here are some tips on what you need to do months before your SPM. to be honest, i'm not the right person to give advise because i'm not the straight A's student. But I determine to do this, after I knew and saw that there are so difficult to get place in job opportunities out there and great place in those universities who hold great names.

 1. Pay attention during the classes. Don't sleep, don't do anything else, don't play around because you will loss what do you really need to know bout the subject. If your teacher is boring, too bad. I sat on first row in class practically in front of the white board so there's no problem for me to pay attention when my teacher is teaching. But, quiet poor for those who sit at the back of the class because there are so many obstacles for you especially from your friends, from those pupils who keep walk here and there in front of your classroom and from your self too !

2. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Perhaps you're  shy and you might be labeled incompetent , but actually asking questions gives you the answers you need. Not all the students in the classroom really understand 100% what were the teacher taught. If you really don't understand what he taught, raise your hand up and ask questions even the simple one. Your classmates might say, ' apalah soalan senang pon tanya' then it's okay because the one who will answer the questions in your SPM is you and not your friends.  If need be, go and see your teacher in the staff-room. Or you can ask your smart-ass friends who should know the answers, and why? Because they asked the teacher.

3. Study when you really have the mood to study. Maybe sometimes you are not in the mood to study and want to have a relax, then just do what you want ! Sleep, hear music, sing, play video games or surf internet. For me, it's better for you not to push and force yourself to 24/7 study. Surely you'll get sick if you keep on reading, doing exercises, and don't have time to relax. Ouh, do some exercises such as jogging, playing badminton too. Breathe fresh air. Parents might ask you to study study study because they want you achieved great grades during SPM, but they do not know what you feel. So, just enjoy your life, don't feel too stressed up.  If you are relaxed and happy, you can study better and get good grades. Don't put it too hard on yourself, do what you can.

4.  Find creative ways to learn Biology and Sejarah instead of reading paragraph by paragraph for those who are too lazy to read. Some of my friends said that Sejarah is so boring because there are so many things to read, so many facts to remember.  So, why don't you guys find another ways to memorize all these facts. What i did, I sang the facts, especially for the Sejarah. Just lalalalalala (what ever tempo you love to) song and ill make sure that i remember the facts. And i recalled all those facts before I sleep. Sejarah is all about stories , that's why i love it so much! Same goes to Biology. So many names, definitions, and pathways to remember. So, i decided to draw the diagrams, pictures, and pathways. And labelled them with colourful pens. Don't ciplak others drawings because you may not understand what he drew and the explanations bout his drawings. So, put some efforts to draw your owns.

5. Don't forget to do past year questions, exam papers from other states, SBP, MRSM and never give up once you can't answer the question. Keep on trying and trust yourself that you could manage to answer the question. If you really can't answer it, then go and see you teacher. Befriend with students from other schools either they are from MRSM, SBP or even daily school. Ask them how they study, what are their's strategies to tackle questions and what were their's teachers taught them. Don't be shame to share your education problems with them and do some group discussion even via SMS and calls.

Thanks for reading and good luck for SPM candidates. Relaxed and don't stressed up. Chill and enjoy your senior year :)  Hope this enlightens you. Have a nice day and take care!

Pesta Pantun Kuala Selangor 2013

Assalamualaikum and haaaaaaaaai *senyum sampai telinga*

Cheers everyone. Maigod, rindunya kat semua orang. Jet jet je, sebenarnya rindu dekat Nadd je pon. Tapi disebabkan dah whatsapp and call dengan Nadd Sabtu Ahad lepas, so kira pudar warna dan rasa rinduku terhadapmu sayang, Nadd.

Okay jom balik topik asal.

jeng jeng jeng *drum roll*

Disebabkan akak korang ni terlampau tak rajin nak update blog and taip new entry everyday, so, her's blog got boring. Tapi apa kata hari ni kita cerita pasal pantun yang dah berkurun lamanya terpendam dan tersimpan dalam ingatan akak sorang je. Moga-moga memberi semangat untuk adik-adik yang tahun depan bakal jadi pemantun sekolah. ewaaaah ! hihi

13 & 14 Mac 2013
SMK Puncak Alam, Selangor

Hari pertama

Yaa begitu bersemangat para bendahara, temenggung, perwira, perkasa, tun teja, anum dan sekalian rakyat jelata dengan persalinan jingga bertenun songket. *gaya orang dolu-dolu*  Ya ya, Kak Nadia kau pon tumpang excited dup dap dup dap tangan sejuk nervous haih. Tapi tahun ni lebih relax sikit sebab just being the audience.

Karang pantun dengan bersungguh-sungguh, do it well dan jangan menggelabah. Once you menggelabah, then you will ruin your pantun. And your handwritting gonna be worse.

Yaa, akak pernah merasa semua tu, dik. Pernah terlupa nak kena jawab pantun bila Hasnol jual pantun. Dang ! Hasnol memang ada gaya Macho Ala Melayu :)

Tapi bila lelaki jual pantun pada lelaki dan perempuan jual pantun pada perempuan, rasa tergamam terkesima, terblushing tu macam takde ar. Kira macam ' aku lagi hebat dari kau, aku nak menang ! ' tu je yang ada. Tapi adat pertandingan, ada tenang ada gundah.  Ada menang ada kalah. Semuanya bergantung kepada rezeki, juri dan cara how you present your pantun. :)

Bila dah diumum pemenang baru la boleh senyum senang sampai nampak macam comel sangat sebab dah hilang semua resah.

Dan mula sesi bergambar sebab senang hati walaupun pantun banyak lagi tak hafal. Ouh, kakak tutor pon ada gituu :p

Hari Kedua

Go guys go guys ! I know you are the best. Just chill and jangan nangis. You did your very best !

Tapi jangan risau, they all semua happy and no hard feeling no hurt feeling. Sebab they know yang itu semua adat pertandingan. hihi :) Siap bergelak sakan main buat video gelak tak hingat orang sekeliling dah dekat kantin sekolah orang. Well, these make us more unite.

credit to Ain Izzati

Apabila detik yang dinanti-nanti telahpun tiba, maka pertandingan pusingan akhir Pantun Daerah Kuala Selangor pon berlangsung. *gaya pengacara majlis*

A young boy who has a sweet smile spotted !

Everyone looks stunning and dashing. atau mungkin sebab warna baju yang sangat-sangat cantik ?

Lawan-lawan-lawan, senyum-senyum-senyum, berkias-berkias-berkias, gagap-gagap-gagap, lega-lega-lega, jual beli pantun untuk para penonton sangat seronok sebab semua penonton sangat sangat sporting. Just enjoy to be there.

Dan acara kemuncak ----> Penyampaian hadiah.

SMK Sungai Burung

& SMK Raja Muda Musa berkongsi tempat di tangga ketiga

Tiada gambar untuk pemenang tempat kedua ----> SMK Dato Harun

Dan juara berturut-turut

jeng jeng jeng *jantung berdegup*

SMKA Kuala Selangor @ Kusiss. Anak-anak cikgu Zaleha memang semua pandai berpantun :)

dan pemantun terbaik adalah

Akak tak tau nama adik ni, but she deserves it. :)

urm urm . okay he is only 16 :)

Tutors :) ouh legend gituu

Untuk adik-adik pemantun SMK Raja Muda Musa,

Hainies, Habib, Adib, Ain, Zakwan

I'm proud of all of you. You're the best. We didn't make our everyday practice just like other schools did, but we still got the chance to be in the semi-final. Even akak didn't come and help you guys during the practice  sebab akak selalu skip*in case kalau you guys rasa akak macam not help at all* I'm still did help you. kan kan ? hihi. Kita selalu main-main time berlatih, lagi-lagi waktu cikgu takde and akak yang kena jaga korang. We never serious and korang selalu gelak-gelak bila akak jual pantun. And jarang sharp bila jawab. But see, korang still boleh buat waktu pertandingan. So, after this jangan merendah diri, jangan lack of confidence, jangan risau, jangan takut sangat.

I just love you guys because we enjoyed every moments that we have, kita tak stress time berlatih, kita takde merungut, terasa hati and memang macam satu family. With the teachers yang sangat sangat sangaaaaaaat baik. I hope that korang akan terus be in Pantun and never regret to be part of SEMERMUM Pantun Team.

Tak sempurna kalau takde cikgu-cikgu yang sangat rajin , sangat berdedikasi.

Pn Norasmah & Pn Sumiaton

Pn Yusma & Pn Adina

Dear juniors, smile because you guys have this

be there, done that :)

Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) tiga serangkai

Assalamualaikum and hi :)

As it's already Wednesday and mostly a week after the holiday breaks, I've been so lazy when I know that I'll be in the home alone with no one as my parents out for work. Its super damn hard to get out from the bed after a long week of holiday, vacations, and super cool shopping.

So today, Since I'm really in the mood to type something, I plan to write bout my vacation to three states which are Johor darul Takzim, Melaka Bandar Bersejarah and Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus. To be honest, this wasn't my first time to be there but to be real, this was the best vacation at there for the time being.
Johor Darul takzim ------> Johor Premium Outlet (JPO)
Mula-mula tengok dulu gambar persekitaran ye :) Masuk JPO terus rasa aura paris, New York , omaigod iolls dekat oversea !

Bukan tu je yang ada dekat JPO ni, banyak sangat butik. jangan risau jangan gundah ye semua, Coach, Gucci, Bonia, Burberry, Armani Exchange, G2000, Levi's semua ada. Ouh, CarloRino pon ada.

Hari pertama

Hari Kedua

Tapi dah iolls nampak majoriti bawak DSLR kemain besor-besor, diorang tangkap gambar apa? Gambar kat luar tu je ? So, iolls pon tangkap jela gambar dekat dalam outlet. hikhik. Iolls tangkap gambar sebab nak promote, bukan sebab apa pon kan.

Jangan uolls ingat JPO ni cuma orang Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei je yang datang, Jepun pon datang sini tau. *terus teringat JAD*

But for me la kan, harga dia murah dan berpatutan.

Duit takkan habis dekat bank tu, cuma kena pandai tahan nafsu ye kakak abang sekalian.

Melaka Bandar Bersejarah -----> Bandar Hilir

Sebenarnya dah selalu pergi Melaka. Dan iolls sangat sukakan Melaka. Cantik, bersih, aman, bersejarah, just a nice place for me laa.

Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus ----> Cowboy Place

Singgah makan je pun. Tempat ni macam pelik sikit. Semua waiter okay, no waitress. dan semuanya budak lembu --> Cowboy. Makanan and air takyah gaduh-gaduh nak order apa sebab kat sini memang hanya ada Nasi Kukus + Ayam Panggang dan Air Tembikai / Air Limau. Kalau nak tahu sedap ke tak sedap, datang sendiri , rasa sendiri, nilai sendiri. Tapi iolls bagi 4/10. Sebab hehehe makanan cowboy kan, memang ar tak rasa apa.

Takpelah, asalkan korang faham ye. Sekian cerita dari iolls.  Enjoy your trip, guys.
